Lunch Time

My doctor, being the rather proper doctor that she is, suggested that I at least “try” to eat better.  I asked her if was before or after I had a large Snickers bar and a cheese burger.  She obviously saw little humor in it given the way that she rolled her eyes at me.  But that’s OK cuz I know she’s a Mom and Moms do that kinda sorta thing cuz they have to.  I think it’s some Minnesota public law or something like that and I would hate to see her get into some kinda trouble with the local police.

But it’s that time of year where the outside cold radiates in thru the cheap glass on my office window.  It keeps my grapes nice and chilled.  Yeh, I like them very chilled.  I’m weird that way.  It would be better if I could freeze them and then add them to a glass of wine but they kinda sorta frown on me drinking at work.  I don’t think they would believe me if I claimed I was just following doctor’s orders to eat better.  Yeh, management is weird like that and not very progressive.

  1. Hahaha! Management…such fun snatchers. One Christmas, I walked into my office, and there was a giant bottle of red wine on my desk…good stuff. I nearly passed out wondering how I would sneak that out of the building. I thanked the gift giver for the good stuff, but I kicked her in rear for nearly giving me a heart attack. Cheers!

    1. Oooooooo! I like that kinda gift giver. I do that sometimes. I brought back a bottle of French wine from France for my tag team member. she likes French wine. it didn’t last long in her apartment.

  2. Why did she snort at your snickers? After all that’s as good as a salad. It contains healthy nuts, beans, cane or turnip, vegetable oil, milk … ^^

But seriously: it’s actually pretty easy. Half of your plate is for the vegetables. For every meal. And for snacks get yourself a big basket full of apples, pears, oranges and a banana. Tastes much better than chocolate anyway 🙂 And you easily get your 5 helpings of veggies and fruit a day.

  3. Lol you’re funny! A glass of wine a day keeps the doctor away or an apple a day keeps the doctor away. Same sh*t, it’s all fruit! Wine’s supposed to be good for your heart. I read that somewhere.

    1. red wine is suppose to good for the bad cholesterol that clogs up the arteries going to your heart. it’s kinda like nature’s way of applying it’s own version of Drano to your body without all of the harsh chemicals. therefore wine is good for your body and we shouldn’t fight nature. I told her that too but I don’t think she bought into that argument. she just rolled her eyes.
