There’s a nice harvest of fresh oregano and basil this morning. The oregano is all washed and will dry in the sun for a bit and then it’s into a brown bag to go under the stairs to dry out completely. The basil leaves will be turned into pesto tomorrow. Eating is going to be good this coming Fall and Winter.
Leftover stalks from the basil are chopped up and returned to the garden as compost. The other herbs are doing great in the sun. I’ll have to cut back the thyme and rosemary in a week or so so I have put that under the stairs as well. I’m still thinking long and hard about the hoop house covering for the herb garden so it’s in place before the 1st of October.
