This is how to spend a winter day

Baking monster big chocolate chip cookies to share with one another.  We had a really good time doing this.  Opa made the cookie dough and was responsible for baking.  The gummys were responsible for shaping them and putting them on to the baking sheet.  The eat really, really good.

Burp!

Excuse me.

they like helping in this one area and they know that they get a reward in the end. that is whenever I don’t catch them snitching cookie dough.

Little girls and cookie baking – I do miss those days. My girls are grown and do the baking in their own houses now.

they’re good that way. add them to a skillet and toast them over medium low heat for three minutes. stir constantly or they will burn. pour them on to a plate to cool afterwards.

Yes, but I wonder if that would adversely affect the taste of the cookies?

you can always make two batches for comparisons. I always toast chopped pecans and chopped walnuts before I bake with them. it enhances their flavour.

Hmm…I just might do that. Do you have to add any oil or just toast them with nothing in the skillet?

don’t add oil. nature gave them built in oils. but you have to stir constantly. the smell is wonderful in my opinion. it’s a little trick of the trade that I learned from a bakery chef a while bake.
