Right! This is a really interesting scenario. The judge might be dumbfounded as to the “correct” answer. Does a defendant, or a plaintiff, need to follow a judge’s orders? How about “All Rise”. What if you don’t? I love it.
well there is no law that I know of that mandates that you rise. this is nothing more than courtroom etiquette. I suppose one could invoke their 1st Amendment rights if challenged. precedent has already been established with the anthem.
That’s NOT ironic, that’s simply awful. 😦 (and yeah, it’s funny too…not casting doubt about THAT). Our systems over here are really severely messed up.
