Monday Afternoon

Momma hen has discovered that the birds are messy with the cracked corn and other seeds in the bird feeders.  She’s been helping herself to whatever the finches and sparrows and chickadees are throwing on to the ground.  She makes for some good entertainment.  What’s even better is watching her boy friend fend off two other potential suitors.  He is quite the jealous type.

It’s bright and sunny out there with the nearest cloud off over in Cheese Land somewhere.  I’m good with it.  Now we will hopefully get that long spell of rain that we’re forecasted to have.  It would be nice to shut off the yard irrigation system and let Mother Nature do her thing instead.
