Saturday Morning

My brother just had to call me last night to let me know that it was 85* in Glen Burnie yesterday.  “Gee, that’s nice.” is what I said as I looked out at the sleet coming down which was then changing into that icky bad white stuff.  It’s been a long time since I’ve been thru a Spring blizzard.  Getting one on a Friday the 13th is definitely not a highlight in my life.  “Why did I move here?” was what I was really thinking.  Actually I had worse thoughts; I’ll just refrain from repeating them.

I reminded myself that I wasn’t suffering thru this like some others are right now.  I cleaned out and refilled one feeder, cleaned out and filled another, put new water in the bird bath and then filled the feed dish for the bunnies.  I threw out some of the old seed onto the snow thinking that the birds would clean it up.  The Juncos are showing that it was a pretty good decision on my part.  It’s given me an idea for next year.and a way to use up some excess plywood.

There’s nothing much to do now other than to hunker down and wait.  There’s no sense in even trying to go anywhere given the road conditions and given this crap isn’t supposed to stop until tomorrow.  This is looking more and more like a repeat of “The Winter That Doesn’t Want to End“.  I’m ready to scratch off April.
