  1. Mornin’; Jim
Sam Phillips, the owner and founder of Sun Records in Memphis, was from my area (Florence, Alabama) he and his brother Judd Phillips owned a radio station here which played lots of Sun Records… Of course. Also since Florence was Sam’s home his recording artist like Elvis and Carl Perkins performed here on a regular basis in the 1950s and all of our old timers love to reminisce about those concerts here. The street in front of his radio station has been renamed Sam Phillips Boulevard. There are still a lot of Sam Phillips’ family still living here and my cousin is married to one of them. Anyway I like Carl Perkins original version of “Honey Don’t” much more than the Beatles version. Also Sam’s brother, Judd Phillips, was big in the record business and had his own record company, Judd Records, which released the legendary “Rockin’ Little Angel” by Ray Smith… which sounds sort of like Elvis and is a very cool Song. I hope you found that interesting.👍💃

  2. Enjoying this Jim, you have some interesting vinyl collection.
just reading a book called “The Music shop” where the main charachter only sells or at times
gives away vinyls. Life speaks to him through music and he helps people by finding the right
healing tracks for them. Fascinating book.
