Random Thoughts for Monday

My poinsettia from 2 years ago is blooming once again.  It wouldn’t turn red last year but it was stuck in a cold window this year and, voila, red leaves this year.  Hopefully more leaves will turn.

Is it me or is this month disappearing fast?  Here it is the 11th already.  It seems like yesterday was Thanksgiving.  One can always hope that winter passes fast around these parts.

My boss went behind my back once again.  Why do they do stupid things like that?  I was initially a bit PO’d but then I got to thinking about it and now I just shake my head.  How petty and silly it was.  One has to be really insecure or distrusting to stuff like that.

Tonight is a leftovers night.  Sometimes leftovers are mucher betterer than the initial meal.

    1. dunno. there’s one way to find out. I did a little research and found they hate standing in water which is contradictory to how they sell them with the colored foil surrounding the pot. I pull them out of that, water them thoroughly and let them drain and then leave them alone. I haven’t killed one yet.

  1. Your Pooinsettia is gorgeous and well done you. I am also happy when mine comes back the year on. Bought a new one too. Bright and happy over winter.

As to people who get you down, in the end it is their loss for not having the human decency within. I know a very good song about this but the refrain is a bit daring.:))

      1. But, they’re nice and blue, and all furry looking. I just might use them for penicillin in case I run into that fillie from the holl’er!

  2. I have a poinsettia that I transplanted outside and that usually doesn’t get cool enough in the fall to set the bloom. So it gets weird red leaves scattered all over it. LOL! I do have a Christmas cactus on a window sill that always gets cool enough to set it’s buds and blooms like crazy all winter long. Plants are fun, beautiful and interesting! Your photo is excellent! 👍👍

      1. I got mine as a cutting or slip from my Cherokee Grammy Me-Maw who lives in Jasper, Alabama. She has stuff growing out of everything and anything that will hold dirt.🌺🌱

      2. LOL! My Grammy Me-Maw is 96 years old! if you can’t get a Christmas cactus at your local lawn and garden center you probably can get one from a good florist. Walmart sells them here at Christmas time covered with blooms. Makes a great gift!👍👍

      3. Hahahahaha! I know what you mean. I’ve also noticed that Walmart seems to be turning against its own customers.🙈

      4. You are so right about that! Helen Walton was a kind and generous humanitarian. She was a Presbyterian and members of the national Presbytery speak very highly of her. I wonder what happened because as you say I never hear anything about those kids?😒
