It’s that time of week once again where I pit myself against my brain for ultimate control. My brain has been winning so far this week. Here goes …
1. The fog is finally lifting this morning. I woke up to a pleasant 56*F (13C) outside. I left the front windows open all night and the house was really cool. Too bad I had to work today. It would be a great day to sleep in.
2. Tomorrow is Farmer’s Market day. Woo hoo! I get out of this house.
3. Its supposed to be clear with no rain for a number of days now. I have a number of yard chores that I need to do to take advantage of no rain. It will feel good to get back outside and working as long as I don’t over do it. Besides, my bathroom scale is going in the wrong direction and we need to stop that ASAP.
4. I guess others heard about my office giveaway yesterday and I understand they descended like a plague of locusts. LOL. I guess that’s one way to clean house before they move.
5. I promised someone that I would post a photo of the poppies in the moat of the Tower. They had them planted in recognition for all of the UK dead from “The Great War”. There was one for each man who died. It was amazing to see all of them and the pic doesn’t show them all. I would have liked to have one for Grandpa, Uncle Fred, Uncle John, Uncle Steve, Cousin Curtis and Uncle Martin since they were all in the war as well.
Well, that’s it for this week. Feel free to comment and/or leave a vigorous “HOWDY!” as you pass thru.

Thankyou for remembering about the poppies 🙂
They’re absolutely beautiful … and kind of eerie, but not bad. ❤

To bad the poppies have been associated with such a sad cause. I guess the colour red for the tremendous loss of life.

Beautiful flower field, but so sad when I think of all those who died and all others without flower representation who also died. War is ugly, flowers are beautiful 🙂 “pling”

Thanks for the picture and the explanation behind it.
( Called in sick for the first time in two years… it’s noon, just getting up and marveling at how much mucus is produced in our sinuses.)
Who’s this Tom Peabody guy? I like his humor!

Day three of the bug – more alert, more headaches, things trying to settle in my lungs, but I’ll beat it! Went to the drug store and emptied it like it was Halloween and candy was on sale.

Thanks for all the updates, except the one that reminded me how my scale seems to be going in the wrong direction. Thank you for the picture of the poppy field. It’s sometimes hard to visualize, just how many people died.

56 degrees F… Jim, I have long suspected that you are an Eskimo… my Cherokee and Swedish ancestry make me highly intuitive… I can put two and two together and come up with 56 degrees Fahrenheit.

it’s great to see a replacement for Carnac. Nah, I’m not an Eskimo but I do wonder if I’m off my nut whenever the temps here drop below 0F.

Due to the extreme effects of climate change, I am spearheading the Eskimo relocation program; finding cooler homes for Alaska’s Native Americans… you can voluntarily adopt an Eskimo OR one will be assigned to you… by my staff. Refugees from the climate change Wars need our help! Our slogan is: “Refrigerate A Global Warming Refugee This Summer!” No need to worry about Jeff Sessions’ ICE Agents snooping around as we are Native Americans! We have petitioned the superior court of Alaska to sue ICE for not living up to their name and we want them deported to a desert spot on the Mexican Plains so they can see, firsthand, what it’s like to be exiled to one of the Earth’s hottest locations… one more lawsuit for the Trump Administration… You’re welcome… most people think us Native Americans only protest oil pipelines that are illegally spoiling our sacred places. should you decide to “opt out” please return the guest igloo and 10000 lb of whale blubber that UPS will be delivering to your home today. Remember! Us Native Americans must stick together… but not because we’re hot, sticky and sweaty.
Sincerely yours,

P.S. did you know that Robbie Robertson, Jimi Hendrix and Elvis Presley have Native American roots? 👍👌👊

Sorry, Jennifer Love Hewitt has declined your invitation and prefers to keep cool in Hollywood this summer… HOWEVER! My great-uncle Marlon Brando’s (aka “The Godfather”) great grandson “Big Little Marlon” has accepted in her stead and will help you organize the first Native American Community Theater located outside the Black Hills, Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Grand Canyon or your typical Indian Reservation!
Thanking you in advance,

Oh oh! Now you’ve gone and done it! You have invoked the Duke of Earl AKA Gene Chandler! One of the biggest doo-wop hits in history! Did you know that Gene followed that hit up with “Walk On With The Duke” also on Chicago-based Vee Jay records? I highly recommend all of Gene’s fine music! 👍🎵👍

Chicago isn’t chilly enough but since you mentioned it… here is everything you need to know about Gene Chandler:
Gene nicknamed “The Duke of Earl” or simply “The Duke”, is an American singer, songwriter, talent scout, music producer and record label executive.
Chandler is known best for his most successful songs “Duke of Earl” and “Groovy Situation” and his association with the Dukays, the Impressions and Curtis Mayfield.
Gene is a Grammy Hall Of Fame inductee and a winner of both the National Association of Television and Radio Announcers’ “Producer of the Year” Award and the Rhythm and Blues Foundation’s Pioneer Award. Chandler is also one of a just a few singers to achieve chart successes spanning the doo-wop, rhythm and blues, soul, and disco musical eras, with some 40 Pop and R&B chart hits between 1961 and 1986. Gene Chandler was inducted as a performer into the Official Rhythm & Blues Music Hall of Fame On August 24, 2014.In 2016, Chandler became a Double Inductee into the R&B Hall of Fame, having received a Special Induction as an R&B Music Pioneer.
Whew! Thanks for letting me get that out, Jim! if I hadn’t, I would have gone around all day thinking about it. 👍👍
