I decided to play hookie from work today and stay home. I have a number of chores any who and today is going to be a wonderful day after two days of some grey and rain. I’m gonna go run a couple errands and then get after things.
I’ve been reconsidering what I take with me whenever I travel; or rather, when I start traveling once again. Lord knows it’s been a while since I’ve been on the road. I’m considering a smaller and more compact camera. This way I won’t have to haul around my bigger Canon and all of its attachments and gizmos. I’m eyeballing this Nikon but I think I’ll take my time before I buy.
My cardinals have stayed with me for over a year now. I like having them around. The black birds? Not so much. They’re kind of a robber and thieving bird in my view. They end up chasing the smaller birds away.
My white crab apples are rapidly losing their blossoms. They’re starting to look a lot worse for wear and very ragged. It’s too bad but my lilacs are starting to come into bloom. My peas are hanging in there and the green onions and carrots are really starting to grow well. The weekend after this coming one will be time to buy and plant some green pepper plants. Things are really starting to green up now.
So it’s time to finish up this cup of coffee and skeedaddle to run some errands. Fell free to comment and or wave a vigorous “Aloha!!!” when you pass thru.
What about a fujifilm camera? I’m thinking should I or shouldn’t I?

Was debating between that and Olympus but the tech guy reckon the XT 1 or 2 is better

I don’t listen to tech guys. there is plenty of info on-line. I do my own research.

film? in a digital age? I can take thousands of digital pics and know almost instantly if they’re good or not. I usually take 1,800 – 2,000 pics while traveling but usually only keep 200 or so. film costs too much and costs too much to get developed. I can always upload what I want to put to paper at a fraction of the cost.

Aloha! We’re back to minus degree C here in the mornings and cold days too even if it’s a couple of plus degrees C. We actually have that icky bad white stuff some days. That’s not normal May weather around here. Strange Spring this year. Lilacs will not bloom here for a while. Nice bird on the pic “pling”

Beautiful bird. We don’t have cardinals here, but we have other colorful birds 🙂 I was a little bit warmer today. The temp stayed out of the minus numbers at least. “Pling”

I have four cameras and it is always hard for me to decide to take just one. I have two Nikons and I am taking both of them with me when I travel this summer. One has detachable lens and it can be quite cumbersome but takes gorgeous pictures, the other is compact but it can zoom in on a jet and get the detail or it so yeah, two are going with me. I am about to give my Canon to my son because he uses his phone to take pictures and they are really good, but he has a good eye for subject and composition so I am going to give that one to him. The other is an old Fujifilm camera , my first good camera . I rarely use it now, but it takes the best close ups of flowers, so it goes with me to the gardens when I visit. Love the birdy up there 🙂
