5 for Friday

Posted on

1. I am so unmotivated to do any office work this morning.  I hafta light a fire under my tail and get going.  At least my connection from home is good.

2. So it’s finally Fall in central Minnesota.  Where is all of the pumpkin spice stuff?  I sure wish Milestone coffee would go back to their pumpkin spice coffee blend for this time of year.  Yayayayayaya, I can hear ya now but trust me when I say it was pretty doggone good.

3. Tomorrow is supposed to be a warm one around my neck of the Hundred Acre Wood.  Then it’s back to the usual late September weather.  Tomorrow I think will be a good day to paint the trim around the front door.

4. I’m getting anxious for some crisp air autumn breezes and seeing the maples and oaks showing off their new coats of colour.  The geese are already starting to bunch up.

5. I feel like making something special for supper tonight.  Maybe I can get some inspiration at the market later today.

OK, so there ya have it.  Feel free to comment and/or maybe even whisper a suggestive comment in my ear.

Chili and cornbread! I’m looking forward to my annual hot doughnut from the cider mill. Yum!

Ha-ha! Thank you for the amazing compliment. I love cooking for people who enjoy it and even though it takes forever, it’s a favorite.

Maybe a nice stew for dinner tonight since today is an Autumn day? And make enough for leftovers tomorrow since you’ll be painting.

I have a beef stew recipe but it takes 2 – 3 hours to cook once it goes in the oven. that doesn’t include prep time. but the whole house smells wonderful when it cooks and afterwards.

My preference is for lamb stew, I only eat it maybe twice a season and yes it smells delightful.

you probably grew up similar to me where one way of showing love was how you cooked a meal, how you shared it and who you had around the dinner table.

Yes my mom was part of a big family with people dropping by all the time and you always fed them. Now I don’t appreciate random visits but I agree with feeding people.

All things pumpkin!! Says my mom, born in October, she can’t wait for pumpkins to be every where and drink pumpkin spice coffee. I bought her pumpkin spice oatmeal! She was so excited! So I think her party will be pumpkin themed. I enjoyed your random thought blog this morning 🙂 Fall is approaching slowly and beautifully here in Tennessee. I walked by the kitchen window, saw a pretty yellow leaf float slowly to the ground. Jen

I’ve been down to that neck of the woods. I’ve been to Murfreesboro a couple times. I can see why you’re loving it.
