Mother’s Day Morning

Miss Lily hates it whenever I disturb her sunning time.  She ends up turning her ears back and flicking her tail in disgust as she walks away.  I keep forgetting this is “her house” and I’m just here to wait on her hand and foot.  Big Boy?  Who knows where he is.  He’s more than likely downstairs sleeping off a hard Saturday’s effort at doing nothing.

Today is a bread baking day.  Why?  Because Boogie grabbed the last loaf yesterday and said “This is for me right?”  So all that I’m left with is a stale heel of bread and a Ziploc bag full of memories and the fragrance of homemade bread.  So this ends up being a bread baking day due to unforeseen thieving kids.

So I’m sitting here sipping on a cup of coffee waiting for my yeast to proof.  The birds are singing away out back of my place.  The sounds of cars going up and down the main road out back filter in on an early Sunday morning.  Miss Lily decided it was safe to come back and do some more sunning since she heard me banging around the kitchen.  She’s given me the “Don’t even think about it” look.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the Moms.

  1. I love your kitty photos. My cat does not care to have his picture taken and I can only get one when I can sneak up on him to get it , which isn’t easy.
