      • it comes from years of experience with being a back office weenie. it taught us to “pay attention to details”. we learned how to pawn off some really crappy work details to some other guy who wouldn’t read the fine print. remember – we camp differently from the Marines and the Army. our version of camping in the field includes room service and a bar tab. theirs was cold chow and lotsa mud. bugs too. ick! bugs! I’m glad I had a better union.

      • funny you should mention that. I bought all the supplies for a driving range when I was in Kuwait. too bad we hit the balls over an area that the engineers hadn’t signed off on as being clear of mines. there went those balls.

      • Too funny! I have a friend of mine (the only friend I have) who’s AF.Ret. and he had a 3×3 piece of astroturf that he placed the ball on – hit – rolled up the turf – walked to the ball – placed it on the turf – hit it again, while he was stationed over there. Now, THAT’S a serious golfer!
