It was one of those mornings where I woke up and just couldn’t get back to sleep. There were too many thoughts going through my head and the old grey matetr just wouldn’t settle down. I said the hell with it and got up after struggling with it for almost an hour. The coffeemaker wasn’t due to go off until 7:00 AM, so I turned it on manually. the smell of coffee brewing slowly wafted out from the kitchen.
I looked out the front window and shivered a bit. Doggone it’s cold out there. Yahoo said is was 36*F. That makes it what? About 2C? It doesn’t matter. It’s still cold. I nudged the thermostat so the furnace would turn on. I’ll worry about the gas bill later. Heat and comfort takes center stage for now. I’m sure I’ll have a frown when the gas bill comes in the mail.
The sun rose with some spectacular colour and then it went to grey skies out there. I can hear some duck hunters popping away with their shotguns off in the distance as I sit here sipping on another cup of coffee. I’ve made a mental list of some things that need done this weekend. Hopefully the weather will continue to cooperate.
