It’s quiet out there tonight. There’s not even the sounds of planes flying overhead on their run into MSP. Traffic is next to nothing on the main road out back of my house. The only thing that’s missing is snow falling gently down from the sky. No such luck with that one tonight.
I’m thinking tonight of my friend Laurie who was living down in Florida. She’s one of those people that you meet on-line and form a friendship with. The good Lord only knows what happened to her. I sent my usual “Merry Christmas” email to her this year and it came back undeliverable. Well, we will still think good thoughts for her and for her to have a wonderful holiday.
I teased my friend Maria with the idea that Santa Claus was bringing me an elephant this year for Christmas. Why not? I’ve been good this year. Sorta. I’m pretty sure I won’t wake up to an Asian elephant in my garage. It’s a wonderful thought at the very least.
I found the fireplace channel tonight while preparing a light supper. That’s what we call the channel that shows a fireplace with burning fire and Christmas music plays in the background. This year there is no Mister Hands putting logs on the fire or stoking the fire for that matter. No, this year there’s a marmalade cat that won’t sit still. Weird programming on the TV any more.
So another year is almost past. It’s been a long time since that one Christmas spent alone in eastern Turkey. It’s good to be back in the world and away from all of that. Merry Christmas everyone!
Merry Christmas Miss C!
